Welcome to the Online Catfish Report!
Welcome to the ever evolving, seldom updated home of the Ouisconsin and Old Northwest Company. The ONW is a brotherhood of men that all share a interest in the hobby. We come from varied backgrounds in the "real world" and portray an even wider array in the period. Among us you will find retired men, young men, family men, and singles... the defining thing that holds us together is our love in this brotherhood we call the ONW.
The Catfish Report is the
periodical of the Ouisconsin and Old Northwest Co. and shares what is going
on within the hobby we love, offers insight, recaps trips and rendezvous
camps, updates us on members that might be ill, and basically gives us
something to look forward to between events. The written Catfish
Report is managed by the presiding Bourgeois. The Online
Catfish was a brain child of yours truly, Mr. Biscuit and is secretly
funded by a benefactor who shall remain nameless... Thanks Santa!
I am trying desperately to get the site updated... and for once keep it updated. We will see how long I manage with this. :) If you have any questions regarding this site, its content, or anything herein... please feel free to contact me.
YMOS,
Mr. Biscuit

Silver Cliffs Update 06/16/2009
Brothers.... A big THANK YOU! to all of you who contacted me with the information on Silver Cliffs. Seems our Prince Rick was out doing his annual job of killing bear and that was the reason he wasn't getting my passenger pigeon messages. All is well in the territory, as Rick made it home safe and sound along with a icebox full of meat. See all of you at Silver Cliffs.... I am looking forward to seeing those youngins tossing some cast iron :)

Update #6
Rendy at the "Property" 05/17/2009
This weekend, Memorial weekend, marks another great gathering of the Company at the property in Tomahawk. It will make my 5th trip to the property and it never ceases to keep me in awe. The beauty of the land is incredible, the clear nights there yield a million stars, the sound of the wind thru the tall grass and of course the laughter late into the night of friends telling stories around the fire. I encourage any man of the company who has never been there to come... attend... and enjoy the property... I promise you will not be disappointed. If you need directions or information, please feel free to contact me for that. Please come and enjoy.
Update #5
Update on Butch 05/13/2009
My apologies for the lateness of this post. I know many of you know of the passing of Butch and sadly we will be laying another memorial brick at "the land" for a fallen friend. I never had the chance to meet Butch... but I have heard many stories around the campfires... all of them good. I raise a cyber fig newton to you Butch, may you cross on calm waters and be there to greet us when we make that last portage.

A quick update on Butch. I visited him again last night. He
is uncomfortable, and his blood pressure is low so he was a little
drowsy. The hospital seems to be taking good care of him and he has
expressed no complaints. I have told him that there have been a number of
queries about his health and the well wishes that have been sent through
me.
Butch and Linda are off line right now.
I f you are interested in their mailing address, please drop me a line and
I can forward it to you....
I am going to be gone to Lebanon then Indiana, then back to Lebanon and the usual Spring stuff, so I am going to be bad at keeping everyone up to date for the next two months. I will vist him whenever I am back here and will update you all.
Gerry

I received a roster update from Joe "Buckwheat"
Lichtenstein... Seems we have been misspelling Joe's last
name... Joe, my apologies on that... It should be corrected here online
now and you should be in the correct alphabetical order now as well...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also received a Roster update from
our good friend Jeff "Banjo" Pockat.
Banjo was kind enough to pass along a
pic of himself in Ireland. The Poltroon's
will be jealous! Jeff said Ireland was
fantastic and he has to get back there
someday. Thanks for the update Jeff!
If you have a pic from a trip or of
yourself you want to share with the
group, just pass it along... I'll do my
best to get them posted up for
everyone....

Update #3
ONW and NAVC Colonial Ball 03/31/2009
Imagine
my surprise this evening when the good Lady Garrett contacted me with
information about this year's coming Colonial Ball. Tom and Nancy
have been working hard over the years providing us with one of the most
wonderful events -- The Colonial Ball. This year, the ONW will be
joined by our good brothers of the
North American
Voyageur Council (NAVC). The Ball will be held November 7th,
2009 at the MacKenzie Center. Music will again be provided this year
by Stone Ring and we will be led by our caller, Reid Miller. If your
worried about not being a dancer... have no fears my brothers... Reid
takes great care in making sure everyone has fun with it.
Stone Ring of course is a
delight... gotta get them to play "Star of the County Down."
Honestly... if you have never been to one of these Balls.... you really must try to attend... the pre-dance meal is always a treat, there is always plenty of good company, and plenty of music and dance for all.
As I receive more information from the Garrett's, I will pass it along.... Stay tuned!

When I was but a child, I looked at the world thru a child's eyes...
Now as a adult... I can still giggle and laugh... and enjoy life... and listen to the Poltroon's serenade late into early morning....
You KNOW what I'm talking about :)
